Frequently asked questions about Peekino, and how to reach us

FAQ

Q. I bought ink but my balance didn't go up
A. Depending on your connection, it can take a moment. Reopen the app with a good connection and the purchase is applied automatically — purchases are never lost. If it still doesn't appear, please contact us.
Q. Does my ink carry over to a new device or after reinstalling?
A. Yes. With the same Apple Account (and iCloud Keychain enabled), your balance follows you to the new device automatically. If you have a subscription, tapping "Restore Purchases" on the top-up screen also restores it.
Q. What happens to my saved puzzles if I delete the app?
A. Puzzles you've saved are removed from your device when you delete the app and don't come back when you reinstall (they return only if you restore your whole device from a backup). Your ink balance, as noted above, is tied to your account, so with the same Apple Account it carries over after deleting and reinstalling.
Q. Is ink shared between iPhone and iPad?
A. Yes. With the same Apple Account, every device uses the same balance.
Q. Does unused ink carry over to the next month?
A. No. Your plan's ink refills to full every month, and any ink you don't use does not carry over. If you move up to a larger plan, your ink changes to that plan's amount right away.
Q. How do I cancel the subscription?
A. Anytime in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions on your iPhone / iPad. After canceling, you keep using the ink already granted.
Q. Can I delete my play records for a puzzle someone sent me?
A. Yes. Go to Settings → "Puzzles you received" → "Delete my play records". Deleting removes your row entirely from the maker's list — including from the attempt count — so no trace that you played remains. Clearing your nickname alone isn't enough, because the date and the "2nd try" label can still identify you. Please note: this can't be undone, notifications that already arrived can't be taken back, and content kept as part of a report isn't removed (for safety). The puzzles you received stay on this device and you can keep playing them. If you play again, you appear as a new participant (not linked to your previous self).
Q. If I restore from an iCloud backup, do puzzles I received come back too?
A. No. Backups include only the puzzles and collections you created. Backups are written to the "Peekino" folder in your iCloud Drive — a place you can browse in the Files app. Puzzles you received are entrusted to you for a limited time (30 days after you receive them, or until the sender stops the link), so saving them there would leave the pictures behind even after they expire. We leave them out to keep that promise to the person who sent them. If the link is still live, you can simply open it again to receive them once more.
Q. Are my photos stored?
A. No. Images and instructions sent for editing are not stored. See the privacy policy for details.
